This website

This website is a set of static pages: it sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from anyone else's servers; our web host receives your request and, like any host, can see its technical details.

The rest of this page is the policy for Rastrata as a service, at app.rastrata.com, and for everything else we operate.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Gant Street LLC d/b/a Rastrata ("Rastrata", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects information when you use Rastrata, including our websites at rastrata.com and app.rastrata.com and the related software and services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Information from third parties. Information from services you connect to the Service and authorize to share information with us (for example a bank or payment provider), and from our service providers.

Bank connections. If you connect a bank account, we use Stripe, Inc. to connect to your bank and receive information about the accounts you choose, such as the name of the bank and account and its transactions. You sign in to your bank in a window provided by Stripe, and we do not receive your bank credentials. We use this information to provide the Service to you and do not sell it. Stripe's handling of information is described in Stripe's privacy policy and its terms for Financial Connections. You can disconnect an account at any time.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure and support the Service; to create and manage accounts and workspaces; to authenticate you and send sign-in codes, invitations you ask us to send, and notices about the Service, your trial and subscription, and these policies; to respond to you; to process payments and manage trials and subscriptions; to monitor for, prevent and investigate abuse, fraud and security incidents; to analyze use and to develop, test and improve the Service and our other products; to create aggregated or de-identified information, which we may use for any purpose; to enforce our terms; and to comply with legal obligations and protect rights, property and safety. We do not use the content of your books for advertising.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information: with service providers that help us operate the Service, such as cloud infrastructure and hosting, storage, network and security, email delivery, bot protection, analytics, payment processing, bank connections (both through Stripe, Inc.) and professional advisers, who may use it only to provide services to us; with the people you invite to a workspace and the services and agents you connect or direct us to share it with; with your consent or at your direction; to comply with law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; to enforce our terms and protect the rights, property and safety of Rastrata, our users and others; with our affiliates; and in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, sale of assets or similar transaction. We may share aggregated or de-identified information without restriction.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as keeping you signed in and for security, including bot protection provided by our service providers, and we may use them to understand and improve the Service. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies, but the Service may not work properly without the essential ones. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

6. Retention

We keep account information until the account is deleted. We keep the contents of a workspace until the workspace is deleted, and for a period afterwards in our systems and our providers' systems, including backups and recovery copies. When you delete a workspace we ask Stripe to disconnect its bank accounts and delete related records, subject to Stripe's own retention. We may keep and use information for as long as we consider reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as the law requires or permits, including to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and maintain security.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical measures designed to protect information, such as encryption in transit, encryption at rest through our infrastructure providers, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and the email account you sign in with secure.

8. Where information is processed

We and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and in other countries where we or they operate. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in those places, which may have different data protection laws from where you live. The Service is intended for use in the United States.

9. Your choices and rights

You can export and delete content using the tools in the Service where available, and you can ask us to delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it, to restrict or object to certain processing, or to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising (we do neither). To make a request, write to us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity, may decline requests where the law allows, and will respond within 30 days. You may have the right to appeal our decision and to complain to your state's attorney general or other regulator. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Information about other people

If you put information about other people into the Service, including your customers, vendors and employees, you are responsible for having the right to do so and for any notices and consents required by law. We process that information only to provide the Service to you and as described in this policy.
